About Mediation

You need a mediator with a steady hand, who can see both sides
of the case, and who can help the parties find a resolution they
can feel good about.

Over his years in legal practice, William Dowling became a true believer in alternative dispute resolution, combining his desire to find fair resolution of disputes with his dispassionate eye for the facts of a case.

There will always be a need for courtrooms, but we know that the vast majority of cases settle through negotiation. Mediation is assisted negotiation, involving the search for creative resolution of disputes.

Often, two parties may not be as far apart as they think they are. When there is an opportunity to avoid the expense of protracted litigation – and allow the parties to fashion their own resolution – it's a win-win for everyone involved.
